Description
So often when we study the Word of God, or as we call it, the Bible, we continue to revisit those familiar passages, drama, and portrayals that we have become accustomed to over the years. While it is good to repeat them it also subjects us to taking them for granted. When I introduce a new believer to the Bible, I suggest the believer begins to read the Gospel of John first and they read it for seven times. The first time they read it just as it is without stopping to digest the words or meanings. However, each time they repeat the reading they take time to better understand what they have read more so than the previous time until they are now beginning to see the whole picture of the book with the flow of the coming life, living life and giving life of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. They then can better understand who He was, who He is and who He will remain to be. His coming, His living, His death, His resurrection and His ever being our advocate and presiding Savior for all of eternity.
