Description
Hi, I’m Doc Underwood and I want you to meet C.W. Biggs, Boger County’s best detective. The fact that he is the only detective in Boger County may have a little to do with that but C.W. will not be deterred. His dogged determination has helped him solve major cases in his home county, especially missing dog cases. Some of whom were actually missing. C.W.’s fame has spread beyond his home county. He is venturing into uncharted territory and up against hardened criminals. In Patsy Cline is Crazy, Biggs is called in to track down a missing woman. The Sheriff of Branch County believes she is out on a week long drunk, but C.W. is not so sure. Soon, he has reason to believe that Patsy’s disappearance is tangled up in family rivalries and business shenanigans. C.W.’s reputation for keeping his mouth shut leads to his second adventure in Bright Lights, Biggs’ City. He is called on to bring back the town drunk who has fled to Charlotte to avoid prosecution. That would have little importance except that the town drunk happens to be the brother of a prominent politician. What looks like a bail jumping case soon turns into murder and kidnapping as C.W. goes up against the biggest, literally, crime boss in the Queen City. C. W. may be in over his head. Fortunately, he is helped by a beautiful muse named Mabel and a well-known forensics expert who can’t believe he is as dumb as he seems. Whether he’s up against rabid squirrels, crazy mothers-in-law, or gigantic crime bosses, C.W. stumbles and bumbles his way to the truth. Join us for the adventures of the funniest detective since Monk and Columbo, C.W. Biggs, Country Detective. The collection includes two stories written by our unlikely hero.
