One spindly hand pressed against his forehead and yanked his head back. His neck, now splayed before the creature to explore, felt strained against the hold. Had it always been able to manipulate him so? Was it getting more powerful? It leaned over to press its face into his stretched neck. A tongue squished against the skin over his artery as if it could taste his pulse. A shudder rippled through every nerve in Camden’s body. His vision cleared and then blurred again with an intense ache building in his gut. He gasped as it whispered into his neck, “I can show you everything. You can have everything. Just come with me.”
